And every September, that energy bursts into full celebration at the Reynoldstown Wheelbarrow Festival, now celebrating its 30th anniversary, a milestone which highlights just how beloved this event has become.
Held at Lang‑Carson Park, the Wheelbarrow Festival has grown from a small neighborhood gathering into Reynoldstown’s largest annual fundraiser, drawing families from across East Atlanta and beyond. It is more than a festival; it is a homecoming, a reunion, and a joyful reminder of why this community shines.

🎶 Live Music All Day Long
From Key Komponents to KJ and The Funk Maysons, the festival features a full lineup of local musicians across two stages. Families can dance, relax, and enjoy Atlanta’s homegrown talent.
🎨 A Vibrant Artist Market
Local makers fill the park with art, crafts, handmade goods, and unique finds. It is the perfect place to support Atlanta creators and pick up something special.
🍔 Food, Drinks, and Treats
El Tesoro and Three Taverns Imaginarium headline the drink offerings, with additional food and treats available throughout the day. Look for the BBQ family. When I tell you that is some good eating, that is some good eating.

💛 Supporting the Reynoldstown Civic Improvement League
Every dollar raised supports RCIL programs like Neighbor in Need, greenspace improvements, the Halloween Block Party, and the Reynoldstown Farmers Market.

One of the most iconic parts of the festival is the Reynoldstown .5K Race, a hilarious, joyful, and community‑powered “micro‑race” which proves you do not need to run far to have a great time.
The 9th Annual Reynoldstown .5K Race takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, right at the Wheelbarrow Festival. The route begins at Upper Lang‑Carson Park and covers just .31 miles, just about five blocks or 1,642 steps. Families can run, walk, or stroll, and costumes are encouraged. Finishers receive the coolest T‑shirt in town and fun category awards. I love mine from the past two years and always get compliments. It is the perfect way to raise money, show neighborhood joy, and enjoy a Saturday afternoon with minimal effort and maximum family fun.

Reynoldstown embodies everything we celebrate: community, creativity, family fun, local pride, and local joy. Even though East Atlanta Macaroni KID is not a sponsor this year, we are cheering loudly from the sidelines and encouraging all our families to join in the excitement.
