East Atlanta Families: Let Us Declutter and Do Good Together
Zoo Atlanta is hosting a special Electronics Recycling Day on Saturday, August 29, giving East Atlanta families the perfect chance to clear out old devices while helping protect wildlife. From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., families can drop off small electronics for recycling as part of the Gorillas on the Line… Answer the Call conservation campaign.
Recycling your devices helps reduce demand for coltan, a mineral used in electronics that contributes to habitat destruction for gorillas in the wild.
What You Can Bring
Small electronics accepted for recycling:
- Cell phones
- Smartphones
- iPads
- Tablets
- iPods
- GPS devices
- Smartwatches
- Digital cameras
- Cords and cables. Any condition is accepted.
These items are recycled with Zoo Atlanta’s partner, eCocell, and proceeds support the AZA Gorilla SAFE Program.
Large electronics accepted at Savanna Hall circle drive:
- Monitors
- Desktops
- Laptops
- Servers
- Circuit boards
- Hard drives
- Printers
- Projectors
- Flat‑screen TVs up to 48” (No appliances).
