Clear the Shelters Is Back and Better Than Ever

August is officially one of the best months of the year to welcome a furry friend into your home. Clear the Shelters has returned, and Fulton County Animal Services and the LifeLine Community Animal Center are celebrating with $25 adoptions all month long, plus FREE adoptions from August 27th through the 31st.

This lifesaving initiative helps hundreds of pets find loving homes each year, and Metro Atlanta families have an incredible opportunity to adopt, support local shelters, and experience the joy of responsible pet ownership.

LifeLine Animal Project manages Fulton County Animal Services, the largest animal welfare organization in Georgia, helping more than 43,000 pets every year. Their mission is to end the euthanasia of healthy and treatable animals through innovative programs, low‑cost veterinary care, and community support.

  • Spay/neuter surgery
  • Vaccinations

  • And additional wellness support

These services ensure your new pet begins life in your home healthy, safe, and ready to thrive.

Why Positive Pet Ownership Matters

Bringing home a pet is more than a moment of excitement.  It is a responsibility of a long‑term commitment to love and care for your forever fur baby.  Positive pet ownership helps:

  • Teach children empathy, responsibility, and compassion
  • Strengthen family bonds through shared care and routines
  • Improve mental health and reduce stress
  • Create safer, happier communities
  • Reduce shelter overcrowding and save lives

When families adopt with intention and care, pets flourish and so do the people who love them.
