Bring your little explorers, your big dreamers, and your whole family for an uplifting experience that celebrates history, honors heroes, and inspires the next generation to take flight.

🔧 Where STEAM Meets Sky-High Dreams

Created by the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in partnership with Hosanna House, AIM HIGH blends aviation history with real tools and tasks of flight. Kids are not just learning facts. They are stepping into the shoes of problem-solvers, leaders, and dreamers.

This exhibit reminds every child that perseverance, curiosity, and courage can take them anywhere, even to the clouds.

Get ready to soar, Metro Atlanta! This MLK Weekend, the Children’s Museum of Atlanta is launching an unforgettable new adventure which blends history, imagination, and pure childhood wonder, and we do mean wonder.  Opening January 17th, “AIM HIGH: Soaring with the Tuskegee Airmen” invites families to step into the extraordinary world of the first Black military aviators and heroes who shattered barriers, rewrote history, and proved that courage can lift us higher than we ever dreamed.

This brand‑new 2026 exhibit is not just something to see; it is something to feel. It is a celebration of resilience, brilliance, and possibility, wrapped in the joyful, hands‑on play that the Museum is famous for. And honestly? It is the perfect way to honor the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during a weekend dedicated to reflection, service, and hope.

❤️ Where History Meets Imagination

Executive Director Edwin Link says it best: the Tuskegee Airmen embody the values Dr. King championed, which were resilience, excellence, and the belief that opportunity should never be limited by race. And this exhibit brings those values to life in a way which kids can touch, explore, and truly connect with from the moment they step inside this exhibit.

🛫 Hands-On Adventures for Every Young Aviator

The exhibit is packed with interactive experiences that turn learning into pure magic:

🛩️ Cockpit Flight Trainer

Climb into a life-size cockpit, buckle into real airplane seats, and experience takeoff and landing through immersive video. It’s dramatic play at its absolute best.

🔄 Things That Fly Praxinoscope

Watch early animation come alive as flying objects whirl into motion. It’s science, art, and wonder all in one.

🌀 Land the Plane Maze

Inspired by air traffic control radar, kids use balance and coordination to guide a plane safely home. It is teamwork, focus, and fun all rolled into one.

✨ Imagination Mirrors

Step in front of pressure‑activated mirrors that reveal aircraft and aviation roles, helping kids literally see themselves as pilots, engineers, and innovators.

🕊️ Wearable Wings

Build your own airplane wings or rocket pack and take flight through pretend play because every child deserves to feel like they can soar.

🌟 A Powerful Story, Lifted Even Higher

Alongside the hands‑on fun, families can explore “Black Wings: American Dreams of Flight,” a Smithsonian companion exhibition celebrating African American aviation pioneers from the early 1900s to today’s astronauts. It’s a moving tribute to innovation, bravery, and the ongoing pursuit of equity in the skies and beyond.
