Zoo Atlanta’s Green Team is making it easy and impactful with the E-Waste Recycling Event on Saturday, August 16th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bring your outdated devices and help protect gorillas in the wild!
🦍 Why It Matters
This event supports Gorillas on the Line. Answer the Call, a global mobile recycling challenge led by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Gorilla SAFE initiative. By recycling cell phones and small electronics,you’re helping reduce the demand for coltan a mineral mined in gorilla habitats and directly contributing to conservation efforts.

Recycle your:
- Smartphones
- Tablets
- iPads
- Smartwatches
- Other small electronics
These items will be responsibly processed through Zoo Atlanta’s partner, ecocell, ensuring they do not end up in landfills and instead help save gorilla habitats.
Have larger electronics? No problem! Zoo Atlanta has teamed up with Prime Asset you are helping reduce the demand for coltan a mineral mined in gorilla habitats and directly contributing to conservation efforts.
