Whether you are feeding giraffes, meeting lemurs, or stepping into the shoes of a zookeeper, there is something wild waiting for you every single day. After all, it is Zoo Atlanta!
🐘 Up-Close Animal Encounters
Get face-to-face with some of the Zoo’s most fascinating residents:
- African Elephant Wild Encounters (Friday – Monday at 2 p.m.): Meet and feed Kelly or Tara in a behind-the-scenes experience.
- Lemur Wild Encounters (Friday – Sunday at 11 a.m.): Say hello to Madagascar’s iconic primates.
- Warthog Wild Encounters (Friday – Monday at 1 p.m.): Feed a warthog and learn about their care.
- Petting Zoo Painters (Saturday at 3:15 p.m.): Meet a “Van Goat” or “Baaahlo” and take home a one-of-a-kind animal-made masterpiece!
🦒 Daily Giraffe Feeding
Feed Earth’s tallest mammals from Twiga Terrace daily from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. and 2 p.m.–3:30 p.m. (Weather permitting).
🧒 Little Explorer Programs
- Adventure Cubs (August 2nd & 21st):
- For ages 2–5, enjoy Zoo tours, crafts, and sing-alongs. August’s theme: Fantastic Flamingos!
- Twilight Tots (August 8th & 22nd):
- Evening Zoo fun for ages 0–5 with animal explorations and crafts.
🌙 Special Events & Member Exclusives
- Savanna Nights (August 8th): The final adult-only evening of the season with music, nature, and good vibes. Ages 21+.
- City of Atlanta & Fulton County Family Days (August 9th & 10th): Free admission for eligible residents and employees—bring the whole crew!
- Members Only Night (August 16th): Exclusive evening access with entertainment and wildlife viewing.

- NEW! Rollins Animal Health Center Tour (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday at 1:15 p.m.): See how Zoo vets care for hundreds of animals.
- Keeper for a Day: Elephants (August 16th & 28th): Help prep the habitat and care for these gentle giants.
- Keeper for a Day: World of Wild Theater (August 17th): Learn how trainers connect birds and guests.
- Keeper for a Day: Reptiles & Amphibians (August 20th & 30th): Dive into herpetology with the Zoo’s expert team.
🌍 Conservation & Community
- E-Waste Recycling Event (August 16th): Recycle electronics and help protect wildlife.
- Kids Night Out (August 23rd & 30th): Drop off kids ages 5–11 for a fun evening of Zoo tours, crafts, and pizza!
